Stefan Thomas is an inspirational Keynote Speaker and Student Success & Retention Coach within the education sector, who is on a mission to empower students with the essential skills needed to not just survive their educational journey, but thrive through it and realize their fullest potential. Stefan’s personal journey navigating the school system, combined with his student leadership experiences within at university and professional work within higher education has ignited a deep passion for positively impacting the lives of students and educators alike.
Stefan's journey as a speaker began at the age of 14 when he started addressing various audiences, inspiring individuals of all ages to chase their dreams and develop the necessary mindset to transform those dreams into tangible realities. However, his decision to dive into the world of keynote speaking was inspired by a pivotal moment during his postsecondary education. which led to him falling behind his peers by a year and eventually transferring out of the program at one of the top business schools he was attending. This experience was a turning point, as Stefan quickly realized that many other students were grappling with the same challenges; simply trying to survive their student experience due to feeling lost and unprepared.
Fueled by the desire to change this status quo, Stefan turned to social media, posting motivational speaking videos aimed at encouraging and equipping his fellow university classmates with the skills and mindset needed to excel holistically as students. What began as one-minute videos for a few dozen classmates soon evolved into a series of insightful weekly posts, guiding hundreds of students across North America on their journey to academic excellence. The demand for support, coupled with Stefan's innate passion for speaking and student success, propelled him into a speaking career dedicated to reaching and impacting every student in need of support and direction.
Since embarking on his speaking journey in 2021, Stefan has empowered hundreds of students and educators by speaking for many organizations, companies, and educational institutions like the Durham District School Board, Jays Care Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto, and Humber College. He has also as hosted engaging conversations with well-known media personalities like Brandon Gonez and Blake Carter. Stefan's incredible journey has also led him to pursue a Master's degree in education, equipping him with a deeper understanding of student development and enhancing his ability to connect with students and educators in high school and postsecondary audiences.
Through his compelling keynote speeches and interactive workshops, Stefan serves as a catalyst for high school, college, and university students. His presentations focus on instilling essential qualities such as leadership, identity development, resilience, and goal orientation.
